Edgar on Etsy

Hi Everyone. So what do we think of this little guy on a pocket mirror?  I am testing him on Etsy to see how he sells.
This is my only online shop and I am really becoming part of the Etsy community. There are so many amazing designers. I will blog some of my favourites soon.
I have also joined the world of Pinterest, which I LOVE!! It is such a good place to post your inspirations and then follow other designers and their favourite things. I have a feeling this will be my new form of procrastination.
I'm afraid I have not been my usual blogging self as I have been getting down to a serious amount of designing, all of which I cannot mention at this time.
I have another new gift wrap on the way, a new catalouge, a new collection of Urban Outfitters ceramics and other little exciting projects on the go.
Also just wanted to welcome a few new stockists on board including the National Theatre bookshop in London, Mostyn in Wales and Dallas + Dallas in Glasgow.

Thought I would just show you a few lovely photos that my husband took, while we were on our holiday last week. This is such a beautiful display in my parents cottage up in Scotland. My Mum has such a great eye for antiques and ceramics. They just bought a new dresser for the kitchen and my mugs got pride if place. Lets hope there will be more to join the collection very soon.

What a lovely week it has been. I must admit, I have not been creating as much as I would like, just trying to keep up with dispatching orders and invoicing. However the sun has got his hat on so this makes everything feel lovely.
I am going up home to Scotland next week for a much needed break so maybe this is why I feel so chirpy. I thought I would leave you with this little video from Blitzen Trapper until I return. I'm off to join my wolf pack family. Bye x

Back with Etsy

 

After a lot of consideration I decided to get the Dear Prudence Etsy shop up and running again. Hopefully it will be a success this time round as can reach more customers with Twitter and facebook. So ladies and gentlemen, Dear Prudence is now open. It's free postage to all you folks in the UK and I can promise a few new, exciting products exclusive to Etsy. Eventually all my cards will be in the shop. So anytime you need a card please think of Dear Prudence. I may even sneak in a wee freebie. So this week I have been trying to get my retail head working to think of nice little details improving packaging and overall appearance. Still lots to do.

Dear Prudence loves London

When I lived in London I found it very difficult to enjoy it. Travelling on the tube to work all week meant I just wanted to relax on the weekend.  Therefore never saw the real London and all it has to offer.
Last week I had two very important meetings in London so had to stay there for the whole week, which I have not been able to do since moving to Yorkshire nearly three years ago. I usually only stay for a couple of days and catch the very fast Hull train to Kings cross.
I am wiped out and spent all my money, but I really loved my time there. My sister and very close friends live in London so we could enjoy dinner together every night, hang out on Broadway market and just relax with eachother. I felt like I was a student again. It was really great.
I gained a lot of inspiration from new shops and areas of London I had forgotten about. I could absorb everything rather than rushing around like a mad woman.
I maybe didn't get to see the David Hockney or Lucian Freud exhibitions but I got to enjoy other parts of London I had passed by before.
It was so nice to come back to my studio and collect my thoughts from the week gone by. I guess that's why I get the best out of London now. I get to leave it behind and escape back to my nest in the Yorkshire countryside.

Jotter Study

 

Good evening all. Just wanted to throw a few more jotter designs into the world to see what you think. I will probably have  a collection of 6 or 7 for the year and depending on their success this will grow. They are A5 size and are all handmade in the UK from paper from a sustainable environment (of course) The paper inside is plain, non-lined.
I always hated school but always looked forward to having a fresh new jotter. The first page was always so neat and then by the end it was so scrappy. I decorated my jotters with doodles or covered them in wallpaper and gift wrap from my mum's cupboard. Who would have thought I would be designing jotters for a living. Life is funny.
